Dorset Fire and Rescue Service held an open day at their Poole Fire Station, Safety Drive, on Saturday 30 July 2011. Members of the public were offered free home fire safety advise by Poole firefighters were also on hand demonstrating various different rescue techniques as well as their sprinkler and chip pan demo units, fire appliances and heavy animal rescues to name but a few!

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at a farm near Dorchester on 14 September 2011. Although nobody was injured, a tractor and a combine harvester were destroyed in the blaze. Fire crews evacuated local residents to a safe distance while they got the flames under control.
