Calvert Homeschool Review
First time homeschooling mom shares how Calvert homeschool curriculum eased her worries and gave her confidence... I choose Calvert homeschool curriculum for my daughter for preschool. I was a first time homeschooling parent and I wanted a curriculum that was already made for me. I wanted it as easy as possible, providing me with everything I needed. Once I received the packet of material, it had 160 days of lessons plans already for me, with everything my daughter needed to complete her...

We love Exploration Education Homeschool Science Curriculum
This year we ventured out beyond basic homeschool science textbooks and ordered a physics type kit called Exploration Education. I have 4 boys in grades 6, 3, K and Pre-K. I wanted a multi grade homeschool science curriculum. We have been exceptionally pleased with this. It keeps the attention of all four of my boys, there isn't any prep work for me to do (simply turn on the computer lesson with review questions and then it also leads us through the experiment.) I believe there is a total of 8...

AOP Monarch Homeschool Curriculum Review
Monarch vs. Switched-On Schoolhouse
Monarch has the same curriculum content as SOS, but the engine is quite different. The main difference is that SOS is installed on your computer and can be used without an internet connection while Monarch is stored on Alpha Omega's computers and requires an internet connection to be used. Because of this, Monarch can be used from any internet-connected computer without installing anything. You can see how this could be a big advantage for somebody using a...

Sonlight Homeschool Curriculum: Core P4/5 Review
Homeschooling mom shares what she thinks Sonlight homeschool curriculum Core P4/5; read her review to learn more... We used Sonlight Core P4/5 with Grade K Reader with our now 5 year old. He enjoyed the books more than I thought he would. I thought the instructor's guide and notes were very helpful. This program is for a five day schedule and we also enjoy the use of the Bible. Also it uses storybook, language arts, science, social studies and activities too. I was able to find mine through...

Saxon Math Home School Curriculum/ Saxon Teacher
I have used Saxon Math home school curriculum for years and we tried the DIVE CD ROM and it didn't follow the text at all, due to copy right laws. The concepts were the same; however, if you have a child with generalization problems we have found this to not be ideal. I bought the Saxon Teacher to try and so far I loved it. The Saxon Teacher follows the book more closely. Some parts your child has to read independently, but every problem matches the one in the book from the actual lesson,...

Homeschooling in Michigan Help
Concerned mom needs some Kindergarten/ homeschooling in Michigan advice; feel free to share! My son started kindergarten this year. They believe he has a learning disability and are doing nothing with him. I have talked to the school a lot and heard and read that other parents pulled their kids and homeschooled when they ran into the same problems. I want to home school but I am so lost and confused. I don't believe I want a group to meet with, just awant to teach my son. Any help would be...

Saxon Math Home School Math Courses
I love Saxon Math books. We been homeschooling for seven years and have used Saxon Math for the last six years. We've used Math 3 all the way to Algebra 1/2. My kids can do the math lesson and problems without any assistance from me. It's nice to have a book that is so well organized and offers enough practice that they student learns the problems easily and well. Each Saxon Math home school math lesson involves some "mental math" which are problems done in their head, a timed math sheet, the...
